The Projected Movie of a Karmic Farmer, by Jason Nemer

Blog Figure Last year was the hardest year of my life to date. Struggle after struggle uphill both ways in the snow kind of year. Then 2012 rocked up with a propensity for speed and a thirst for destruction. I have cried more this year than the past five combined, an ocean of tears to clarify my eyes and heart. Most of the pillars of support and love in my life went through a transformation and or dissolution. January and February were really about letting go feeling loss and regaining a healthy relationship to myself. This could sound like a bad country song.

I was talking to my Mom about life as I often do. I was telling her I have been extremely exasperated with life this year exclaiming at least a hundred times “life is f*cking crazy!” …and it is only the spring of 2012. She listened, paused, and after a schooling me on mindful speech. She asked, “what if you said life was interesting instead?” I tried the phrase on and it fit like slick high-end shades, it changed the texture and context of my emotional landscape. I was able to see my struggle and pain with much curiosity and reverence.

I often think our eyes receive the world like a movie projected into our minds, but what if we could switch that and our minds that project the world out? 2012 has been a “no joke kind of year” for me, and many others, if you didn’t get the memo it seems we are on high-speed train ride with lots of unexpected surprises. The world that I am saying yes to is a world where we can project our dreams and visions onto the collective canvas of human consciousness and dream up an new way to be with each other.

The basis of human connection used to be human based, now is cyber based. I am excited to be a one of the many blending the best of both to connect humanity. We can continue to bring this world together through common values, practices and friends. Who are my friends, the people that help me change the lens of our projector so the way I project the world is more in line with my true self? They are the first ones to show up with popcorn for the good and the sad parts. All the struggles I encounter can be fertilizer and give me a contrast to know what we are moving towards and away from. I am building a fabric, a global network of beings that value how we interact and support each others dreams. What do you value? What supports you to project the best movie? What aligns you with the best version of yourself?
